Pro-Life Speech on Abortion

"The Silent Screamers"
You're alone…walking down a dark unfamiliar alley way in New York City. Everything is silent…except for the cars racing through the main streets and sirens in the distance. Suddenly, you're attacked from behind…your voice is your immediate defense, but it is silenced by the strength of the offender's hand strangling your throat. From that point, you are thrashed to the ground and beaten without mercy…until the deed is done...and there is no life left in you. Your murder is a silent scream for justice.
If I happened to say an unborn baby was in the exact same situation would you believe me? But it is true; the baby is alone…in dark unfamiliar surroundings, which we know as its mother's womb. Out of nowhere this new life is abruptly brought to an end when it is mercilessly beaten with the lethal weapons of abortion. Now do you believe me? A murder is committed every time an abortion takes place.
Dr. Jerome Lejeune, known as the "father of modern genetics," testified human life begins at conception on June 7, 1990. He says, "At no time, is the human being a blob of protoplasm as most Pro Choice supporters believe. Eleven years ago while giving an anesthetic for a ruptured ectopic pregnancy (at 8 weeks) I was handed what I believe was the smallest living human ever seen. This tiny human was perfectly developed. It was almost transparent, as regards the skin, and the delicate arteries and veins were prominent to the ends of the fingers. As far as your nature is concerned, I see no difference between the early person you were at conception and the late person which you are now."
Along with Dr. Lejeune, two other doctors, Dr. Hymie Gordon and Dr. McCarthy de Mere, also testified that human life begins at conception. The timeline of fetal development as follows is proof of these doctor's statements:
Day 1 - conception takes place.
At 18 days - the heart begins to beat.
At 21 days - the baby pumps its own blood through a separate closed circulatory system.
At 28 days - eye, ear and respiratory systems begin to form.
By day 42 - brain waves are recorded, and the skeleton is complete.
At 8 weeks - all body systems are present.
In addition to the above testimony is the book "Looking at Both Sides" by Felicia Lowenstein. It contains a passage which speaks about whether the fetus feels any pain during an abortion. It says that Pro Life activists have shown film footage of abortions, where the fetus moves away from the abortion tools. This, they believe, is evidence that the fetus feels pain. They call this the "silent scream."
As it states in the 8th amendment in the United States Constitution "Excessive bail shall not be required, nor excessive fines imposed, nor cruel and unusual punishments inflicted." It specifically states that cruel punishments should not be forced onto any individual whatsoever. A baby is human life. It is an individual. Therefore, it has rights just like any other American citizen. However, through abortion a baby is deprived of these rights. So I ask - where is the justice?
When a murder is committed law enforcement officers are immediately sent out to track down the culprit. Abortions are performed every day, and babies are slaughtered. Yet, do you see law enforcement officers racing against time to arrest the culprits responsible for abortions? Do you see anyone speaking up for the baby as it is torn limb from limb and has cruel, unusual punishments inflicted upon it? That baby screams for justice, but its voice is silenced by the power of its mother's decision, just like a victim of murder is silenced by the strength of its offender's hand. Abortion is a heinous murder; it is a crime. But why are there no consequences for them? The only one who suffers is the poor innocent child who has done absolutely nothing wrong. The only thing that baby did was go along with the course of nature and live as God intended.
In the United States between 2003 and 2006 there were approximately 66,460 murders per year. During the same time span, approximately 1.37 million babies were aborted. No person deserves to have his/her life stolen from them whether they are a victim of cold blooded murder or a victim of abortion. As American citizens we should take a stand for those helpless babies, the "silent screamers." They can't speak for themselves or correct their mother's mistakes. That's why they need us to defend them and their rights. We can do this by attending the March for Life in Washington DC, by promoting adoption or by becoming a member in any right to life group. Abortion is murder. It kills human life. Join in the fight against abortion, reveal the silent screams of those babies using your own voice, and shield the innocent from the shadow of death.
